                                              Four Man Scramble - Handicapped

 

Teams: Four Man teams. Sponsors should play with new members they are sponsoring. You may request teammates. 
 
Flights: Across flights.  
 

Team Handicap:  25%/20%/15%/10% from lowest to highest handicap. Take 25% of the A player's course handicap, 20% of the B player's, 15% of the C player's and 10% of the D player's, and add them together. That's the team scramble handicap. Three player teams 30%/25%/15% from lowest to highest. Teams must have at least 3 players to post a score.
 
Format: All players tee off on all holes.  Select the best drive, then all four players hit from that spot.  Select the next best shot, then all players hit from that spot.  Play continues in this fashion until the team holes out.    Mark the spot you are playing from before lifting ball.  Ball may be lifted, cleaned and placed from anywhere on the course.  From everywhere but the green, all players must place their ball within one club length from the mark, no closer to the hole.  If the selected ball is in the rough, all players must hit from the rough.  If the selected ball is in a hazard, all players must hit from the hazard, or take relief as appropriate. 
     On the green, all players must place their ball within 6 inches of the mark, no closer to the hole.  Once the team has holed out, they have completed that hole.  Do not tap in if there are players that still need to putt!  
     All Four Man teams must use every player’s drive at least four times.  Teams that do not use every player’s drive four times will be disqualified from the tournament.  Think ahead, it may be better to take a drive that is not as good as another if you need a drive from that player. 
     If an uneven number of players sign up, one or more teams will have only three players. Teams must have at least three players to compete.  On a team with only three players, each player may hit a second shot on a rotating basis thereby acting as the fourth player.  For example, on the first hole player A hits two drives, two approach shots, and two putts. Tee time:     Tee times and captains will be assigned by the committee. All players will be notified via email. Any member that changes his tee time (pairing) without the permission of the Tournament Committee will be disqualified from the tournament. The only allowable reason for change will be if that player becomes a single and would have no marker.

 

Format:        All players play medal on each hole.  All players record every stroke until they hole out.  All players should hole out on every hole unless they are out of the hole.  The team score is counted as follows…

 

                     Holes # 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16 – Count 1 lowest net score

                     Holes # 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17 – Count 2 combined lowest net scores

                     Holes # 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 – Count 3 combined lowest net scores

 

                     If a player is out of the hole, they may pick up to speed up play.  In this case the marker will record the score the competitor was most likely to get or the maximum score of Net Double Bogey for that competitor on that hole, whichever is less.  The team may not use the score of a player who picked up.  At least one player on the team must hole out where only 1 score is required. At least two players must hole out on holes where 2 scores are required. At least three players must hole out on holes where 3 scores are required. Failure of the team to hole out as required will result in disqualification of the team from the tournament.

                     Holes # 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 – Total and record 3 lowest net scores

 

Conclusion: The marker should total the front, back and overall scores for each competitor in the group. For team events, the marker should also total the team’s score. If applicable, subtract each player’s handicap allowance from their gross score and record their net score.  Competitors are responsible for verifying their gross score on each hole but should also verify their totals. All competitors must sign the scorecard. The marker should sign a second time as marker and date the scorecard. Post your net score on the tournament sheet.  The marker is responsible for returning the official scorecard to the SLMGA box once it has been verified by all competitors.  All players adjusted gross scores using WHS Max Net Double Bogey Method will automatically be posted to the GHIN system at the completion of the Tournament. (DO NOT POST YOUR SCORE) 

 

Ties:             Ties will be decided by a match of cards as described in the tournament procedures.

 

Results:       Scores are not official until verified by the tournament committee. Results will be posted on the website and are deemed official once chits have been issued.

If a player is out of the hole they may pick up to speed up play.  In this case the marker will record the score the player was most likely to get or the maximum ESC for that player on that hole, whichever is less.  The team may not use the score of a player who picked up.  At least one player on the team must hole out and only a holed out score may be used.  Failure of at least one player on the team to complete the hole will result in disqualification of the team from the tournament.

 

Scorecard:  The captain should pick up the pre-printed official scorecard in the pro shop, if available, otherwise he should prepare your group’s own official scorecard. Choose a member of your group to act as the marker for the group. Choose a member of your group to act as the marker for the group. That person must be an SLMGA member. After each hole, the marker shall record your GROSS score next to your name. Qualifiers: The low net in each flight that hasn’t already qualified will qualify for the Master’s tournament.  Each player’s gross score may be used to qualify for the Club Championship.

 

Awards: Gross and net scores shot in this tournament are eligible for the Low Net and Low Gross awards.  The winner in each flight will receive an award at the conclusion of the season.  The overall low net will also receive 50 points and a donation to the charity of his choice from the SLMGA on his behalf.

The Montauk Interclub is scheduled for Saturday, June 8th. The Charity Cup is the qualifier to participate in this tournament. The top 24 net scores that signup to play will comprise the roster. The matches will be at Montauk Downs. Tee times will start around 11 am.  The cost for the Interclub is $95.

                                              President's Cup Qualifier / 2 Man Best Ball

Qualifier: The President’s Cup tournament is open to all members, but you must finish in the top 16 spots in this qualifying tournament in order to participate in it.

Do not sign up for The President's Cup unless you are able to commit to playing in ALL four rounds.  

 

If you cannot play in ALL four rounds, you can still play in the 2 Man Best Ball

 

Since it is not fair to those who can compete in all four rounds and may be eliminated by your spot, if you enter the tournament and you cannot field a complete team in any of the rounds, the team will forfeit all winnings for the tournament.

Format: Four ball stroke play.  All players play medal on each hole.  All players record every stroke until they hole out.  All players should hole out on every hole. The team will use the score of the player with the lowest net score on the hole.

The 4 Club Interclub will be played at Smithtown Landing CC this year. 

 

PThe residents Cup Qualifier/2 Man Best Ball will be the qualifier for this Tournament.  All players that are trying to qualify for the 4 Club Interclub MUST PUTT OUT when playing.  The top 11 players will qualify for this tournament. 

 

This tournament is played as Match play where each player from each club will be playing an individual match against the other players simultaneously.  (ie: 1vs2, 1vs3, 1vs4 and 2vs3, 2vs4, and 3vs4)

                                             President's Cup

 

 

Teams: Two Man teams.  You must use the same team you used to qualify.

 

Handicap: 90% allowance, applied by hole, off the low ball in the group.  For example, if your allowance is 6 strokes and you are playing in a group whose allowances are 8, 12 and 18, then you will not receive any strokes and the other players will receive 2, 6 and 12 respectively.

 

Handicaps will be determined the Monday before match play starts and then updated after the first weekend on the Monday before second weekend.

 

Rounds: There will be 4 rounds played on consecutive weekends.  Round 1 will be on Saturday of weekend 1, round 2 on Sunday of weekend 1, round 3 on Saturday of weekend 2, and the finals on Sunday of weekend 2.  If you are unable to play in any of the rounds, do not sign up for the tournament. Since it is not fair to those who can compete in all four rounds and may be eliminated by your spot, if you enter the tournament and your team forfeits in any of the rounds, the team will forfeit all winnings for the tournament. At least one member of your team must be present to avoid a forfeit.

 

Seeds: Teams will be seeded based on their finish in the qualifier.  Teams winning their match will advance to the next round to meet the winner of the match in their bracket.

 

Format: Four ball match play. 

Ties: If the match is tied at the end of the round, the match will be decided by a sudden death playoff as described in the tournament procedures. Sudden death will begin on the same hole the players started at, subject to the starter’s discretion. The first team to win a hole wins the match. Write the hole number the match was won on the scorecard and match sheet. For example, if you win your match on the 2nd hole of sudden death write “20” on the scorecard and match sheet.

 

Awards: The winners will receive an award at the conclusion of the season.

 

Rainouts: In the event that the course is closed due to inclement weather, or the tournament committee declares a rainout, the remaining schedule of the event will be affected. If round 1 is rained out, rounds 2, 3 and 4 will also be rescheduled. If round 2 is rained out, rounds 3 and 4 will also be rescheduled. If round 3 is rained out, round 4 will also be rescheduled. If an individual is unable to compete on the rain date, they must concede the match.

Handicap:  90% allowance, applied by hole, off the low ball in the group.  For example, if your allowance is 6 strokes and you are playing in a group whose allowances are 8, 12 and 18, then you will not receive any strokes and the other players will receive 2, 6 and 12 respectively.

 

Qualifier:  This tournament is open only to non-qualifiers in the President’s Cup.

 

Signup:  You may register for this event only if you did not qualify for the President’s Cup.

A player may concede his opponent’s next stroke at any time provided the opponent’s ball is at rest. A player may concede a match at any time prior to the start or conclusion of that match.  A concession may not be declined or withdrawn.

This is a Nassau tournament.  The team that wins the most holes on the front side receives a point.  The team that wins the most holes on the back side receives a point.  The team that wins the most holes over the entire 18 holes wins a point.  If neither team wins the front, back or overall, both teams split that point.  The team with the most points at the end of the round wins the match.

If a player is “out of the hole”, or the hole is conceded, the player(s) may pick up to speed up play.  In this case the captain will record the score the player(s) was most likely to get or the maximum score of Net Double Bogey for them on that hole, whichever is less.  In order to win a hole, at least one player on the winning team must hole out or have a putt conceded.  Failure of at least one player to complete the hole will result in loss of hole.

 

Scorecard: The captain should pick up the pre-printed official scorecard in the pro shop, if available, otherwise he should prepare your group’s own official scorecard. Choose a member of your group to act as the marker for the group. That person must be an SLMGA member.

Scorecard: If available, pick up pre-printed scorecards in the pro shop, otherwise prepare your own scorecard. Choose a member of your group to act as your marker and give him your scorecard. That person must be an SLMGA member. After each hole, the marker shall record your GROSS score next to your name. It is recommended that each competitor keep their own score on an unofficial scorecard.

Conclusion: The marker should total the front, back and overall scores for each competitor in the group. For team events, the marker should also total the team’s score. If applicable, subtract each player’s handicap allowance from their gross score and record their net score.  Competitors are responsible for verifying their gross score on each hole but should also verify their totals. All competitors must sign the scorecard. The marker should sign a second time as marker and date the scorecard. Post your net score on the tournament sheet.  The marker is responsible for returning the official scorecard to the SLMGA box once it has been verified by all competitors. All players adjusted gross scores using WHS Max Net Double Bogey Method will automatically be posted to the GHIN system at the completion of the Tournament.
